Dave had just moved to a new apartment and needed to pay the rent and asked if I had any work that he could do for me. As you can see this drawing was inked and colored by me for the book’s cover of Kidnapped. Graphite on Bristol, the image area measures 10″ x 14″, and the art is in Very Good condition with an uneven trim on the right side. At the top of the page the wording says’The next time I woke up there was a man standing over me with a light. He cared for my cuts and gave me a drink. ” On the back of the page, it says “Dave Simons”, “Simons”, “Unpublished? In different areas and in different handwriting. The bag it came in has writing that I’ve seen on numerous pages from Romitaman and says “Dave Simons”.
