This is a large, original mixed media painting on illustration board by famous Illustrator LAWSON WOOD, of Gran’Pop fame. It was created as the cover for the October 14, 1944 issue of COLLIER’S MAGAZINE. A very colorful, bright and beautiful work. The painting has some type of light smudge in the lower left corner that appears to be where the Collier’s Publishers may have removed the artist’s signature. But that is just a guess. The back of the painting has various notes in the artist’s hand. Cover story is World War 2: “OUR “PAMPERED WAR PRISONERS. Thank you for looking and please write with any questions.
