This is a rare original painting by Fred (Frederick) Machetanz. Original artwork by Machetanz for magazine covers are almost never available anywhere. To the best of our knowledge, there has not been one like this for sale in over twelve (12) years. On the side of the matting is written in pencil Illustration for Jr. Red Cross cover” and “Clayton Bryant. The painting image is 15″ x 12″ in size. It was framed to both display & protect it. This came from an estate in Kenton, Ohio whose owner knew Machetanz and had acquired many drawings and other art from him. The serious collector will understand & appreciate how unique this painting is. His work had him traveling constantly throughout the State, especially in Nome, Barrow, Kotzebue, Fairbanks, and the Anchorage area. This piece is part of larger collection, over 10,000+ items.
