Dick Sprang Batman #66 Cover Re-Creation Illustration Original Art (1985) -NM. Sprang re-creates his classic 1951 cover to the now infamous “Joker’s boners” issue. In this story, the Joker launched a wave of crimes against Gotham based on famous mistakes, or “boners”, in history. Dick Sprang was often referred to as the “Good Bob Kane” back in the days when few comic artists received credit on the printed page, and all Batman art was credited to Bob Kane. Even without the byline, Sprang’s work was easy to spot, and has been popular with collectors for years. The art is matted with complimentary colors with an image area of 12.75″ x 17.75″.
