And check out OUR NEWLY LISTED ITEMS. This is an original printed production art cover for Four-Star Battle Tales #5, published by D. Comics in 1973, and featuring a great cover image by the legendary Russ Heath. Together with the brilliant Joe Kubert, Heath is one of the greatest war artists in the history of comics, with classic work in the 1950’s, 1960’s, and into the 1970’s. The cover has been matted, and it has been attached to the backing on the matte (seems to be with small archival tape, which could be removed). The overall matte measures approximately 11 1/4″ by 14 1/2″, and is all set to be framed. Please note that the “DC” and “20cent” boxes look yellow in the scan, and that is only because of the scanner. The actual paper is white in real life. This is NOT a mass-produced print or lithograph. It is a production art cover that was created during the production process for the comic, and used internally by the comic company. This is from the Jack Adler Collection, and a Certificate Of Authenticity (COA) is included. This is a very cool and rare collectible that you will hardly ever get a chance to see. A truly exceptional piece that would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed, and would be a key piece in the collection of any DC War or Heath fan. Check out our other auctions for more great items. Check it out, you’ll be glad you did!
