This original oil painting was created in 1993 for the paperback novel Exiled Heart written by Susan Tanner and published by Leisure Books. This is a full wrap around cover art painting as it fills up both the front and back cover. It was created on Strathmore illustration board backed up with a foam core board. The illustration board was first coated with acrylic Gesso. It is painted in oil and sprayed lightly with acrylic clear varnish. The full outside dimensions are 22 ¼ wide by 18 1/4 tall. The painted area measures 18 ¼ wide by 14 1/8 tall. I do not have one of the books to go along with this sale, but I had no problem finding some on the internet. About the artist; George’s professional career spans from the mid 70’s up to the last project he completed around 2003 and that was a sculpture of the late, great Frank Frazetta. Ellie Frazetta, George spent 3 painstaking years creating this sculpture. As fate would have it, the person who inspired Geroge’ art career ended up being George’s last work of art. The sculpture deal ended up falling through. A cruel twist of fate struck my brother George starting in the mid 90’s when he started to have problems with his eyesight. He pushed on with his artwork for several more years before it was found out that he suffered from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I would visit him, watching him create his works of art with several pairs of glasses taped together with masking tape so he was able to see. Slowly the MS took from him the ability to do what he loved. So now the time has come for him to part with some of his paintings to help him with living expenses.
