Artwork is 8×12 inches. Howard Rees, born in 1941, is an American artist known for his landscape paintings and contributions to toy design. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles in 1964. Rees began his career with Ford Motor Company in England and later in Detroit, where he contributed to the design of the Mustang line. He subsequently worked for Mattel Toy Company in California, designing many of the red line era Hot Wheels cars. In 1975, Rees transitioned to a full-time painting career, working with both watercolor and oil mediums. His subject matter includes Americana, local Gold Country scenes, European street studies, and expansive vistas.
