This is the original cover art to Scalped 42 by famed comics artist Jock! This is a rare example of a Scalped cover featuring the main character Dashiell Bad Horse – he only appears on about one third of the series’ covers and in general the covers became more abstract as the run progressed. If you know the plot of the book, you know this is probably the most heart-wrenching issue of the entire series and this image is a punch in the gut for the reader. Jock made a truly haunting image here. The cover is ink on comic art board and measures 11×17. Flames were added to the photo digitally for the published version – IMO the original looks better.
