A “Stat” like this would be made in the event that the art was too small or big and had to fit in such as way that the trade dress (logo, price & Corner box art) would fit correctly on the book. Or as in this case for a reprint of the book and a stat is made from the film of the issue. In this case originally presented in Amazing spiderman # 8, Normally the page is pasted on a board that is about 11″ by 17″ but these haven’t been paste down so it’s just the stat itself, and it measures about 11 by 17 it could have been trim to smaller size like 10 by 16 or even 15. The story is Spider-Man Tackles the Torch! Written by Stan Lee, Illustrated by: Jack Kirby and inked by Steve Ditko originally printed as Amazing Spiderman # 8 and reprinted in Spiderman Classic # 9.
